Among more than 100 exhibitors and 3,500 visitors, IKARUS successfully stood out with a special security offer at the ICT Security Conference on 17 September 2024: Together with its French partner HarfangLab, IKARUS presented the new product HarfangLab Guard feat. IKARUS, a 100 % European EDR and EPP system. IKARUS had the honour of welcoming the President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, and the First Counsellor of the French Embassy in Austria, Frédéric Joureau, to its stand. A great success for European cybersecurity!

EDR and EPP technology at the highest international level

The cooperation between Austrian cybersecurity manufacturer IKARUS and French EDR specialist HarfangLab is an important step towards strong European cybersecurity solutions. It shows how important it is to ensure Europe’s technological sovereignty in order to be armed against global cyber threats.

HarfangLab Guard feat. IKARUS combines the strengths of two leading companies. HarfangLab brings its proven Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) technology, which has already proven itself at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This is reinforced by the industry-recognised IKARUS Malware Scan Engine, known for its speed and cross-platform detection power. Together, they form a powerful barrier of protection, combining the speed and defensive power of an antivirus solution with the advanced features and capabilities of an EDR system.

The advantages of HarfangLab Guard feat. IKARUS are clear:

  • 100% European development and hosting: All data remains in Europe, which not only protects sovereignty but also supports GDPR compliance.
  • On-premises deployment: The solution offers full functionality even when deployed on-premises, without compromising on feature set or performance.
  • Open ruleset and full transparency: Insight into all the data collected by EDR and the rules behind threat detection provides unrivalled transparency and the possibility to tailor the system to your own environment.

An important step for Europe’s digital sovereignty

President Van der Bellen’s visit to the IKARUS stand underlines the growing importance of local security solutions for Europe’s cyber sovereignty. At a time when threats to government and corporate networks are constantly increasing, it is crucial to rely on European solutions that guarantee independence and security.

It was a special moment for IKARUS and HarfangLab to share their common vision and passion for a secure digital future directly with Austria’s political leaders. The discussion with the Federal President and the representatives of the French Embassy showed the importance of working together in European partnerships to create innovative and trustworthy solutions.

European cooperation strengthens cyber security and independence

HarfangLab Guard feat. IKARUS sets a new standard for European cyber security solutions: Locally developed and hosted, transparent and highly efficient, the solution enables companies to take their cyber defence to a new level, independently and self-determined, without giving up their data autonomy.

The common goal is to create a strong European cyber security offering that is at the forefront of the market in terms of quality and strengthens Europe’s digital sovereignty. The success at the ICT Security Conference encourages us to continue this path and to drive forward our vision of a secure, digital future for Europe.
